I am currently a religion student at Syracuse University. My specialization is in early Christianity and religion in antiquity with an emphasis on Gnosticism. Below are papers I have written for classes.

Judaism (Fall 07)
Pagan Sacrifices and Yom Kippur Explores the relationship between pagan sacrifices and the festival of Yom Kippur. Recieved an 'A'.
Halachah and Aggadah in Tractate Yomah Examines two kinds of midrash styles in one document. Received an 'A'.
Plaskow and Feminism in Judaism Taking a critical look at feminism in Judaism. Received an 'A'.

Religion in the Middle Ages (Spring 08)
Perpetua and Early Christianity Supposing that all we had about early Christianity was the account of Perpetua's martyrdom. Received a 'B'.
Urban's Speech at Claremont and Recruiting for the Crusades Looking at similarities between various accounts of the speech that sparked the first crusade. Received an 'A'.
Defining Orthodoxy and Heresy in the Medieval Church focuses on why groups that had a desire to change the medieval church in some fashion were called heretics whereas others were made canon. Received an 'A'
Defining Heresy: the French Cathars and Unique Theology explores the gnostic infused theology of the heretical Cathar sect and what lead to their demise.

Early Christianities (Spring 08)
Translating and Understanding the Gospel of Judas Concerning the translation controversy of the Gospel of Judas. Received an 'A'.
Pelagia and Hagiography examines how the story of Pleagia, a whore turned holy woman, fits specific tropes in the hagiographic genre. Received an A.
