I am currently a religion student at Syracuse University. My specialization is in early Christianity and religion in antiquity with an emphasis on Gnosticism. Defining Orthodoxy and Heresy in the Medieval Church focuses on why groups that had a desire to change the medieval church in some fashion were called heretics whereas others were made canon. Received an 'A' Defining Heresy: the French Cathars and Unique Theology explores the gnostic infused theology of the heretical Cathar sect and what lead to their demise. Early Christianities (Spring 08) Translating and Understanding the Gospel of Judas Concerning the translation controversy of the Gospel of Judas. Received an 'A'. Pelagia and Hagiography examines how the story of Pleagia, a whore turned holy woman, fits specific tropes in the hagiographic genre. Received an A.
